WELCOME TO THE GAP

If you're reading this, something resonated.

Maybe a post. Maybe the self-assessment. Maybe just a feeling you've had for a while that the ground underneath your career isn't quite as stable as it used to be.

Whatever brought you here, I'm glad you're in. Here's what this publication is about.

The Gap is the space between the career you had and the one you haven't built yet. I know it intimately because I've been standing in it. Made redundant after 25 years in business intelligence. Saw the signs, told myself I had time, didn't feel the urgency until one morning when the gap arrived and the runway I'd imagined didn't exist.

Everything I share here comes from that experience. Not theory. Not motivational content. Not the polished version. The real one.

You'll get posts about navigating career disruption, building streams of income and purpose, understanding the shifts happening in the world of work, and doing the deep identity work that most career advice skips entirely.

Some of it will be practical. Some of it will be philosophical. All of it will be honest.

One thing I believe deeply: the best strategic thinking doesn't happen at a desk. It happens in motion. Most of what you'll read here started as a thought on a morning walk, spoken into a phone, refined through conversation, and turned into something I hope is useful for wherever you are right now.

If you haven't already, take the self-assessment. Seven questions, three minutes, and an honest look at where you stand. It's free and it comes with a practical workbook to start building from.Glad you're here.

The gap is real. But so is what grows inside it.
